Surah Rahman is the 55th Surah of Quran Kareem. Every Muslim should memorize Surat e Rehman (Surat arrahman) and teach it to his children. The benefits of reciting this Surah are numerous. It was revealed in Makkah. Rahman meaning in english “The Most Gracious”. It is said that whoever recites this Surah day and night will never experience hunger or need anyone. Surah Rahman is called the bride of the Quran.

English Translation

  1. God who is) Most Merciful
  2. He taught the Quran
  3. He created man
  4. He taught him to spea
  5. Sun and Moon are moving in a fixed way
  6. And the plants and trees are bowing down
  7. And He raised the heavens and established the scale
  8. Do not exceed the limit in weighing scales
  9. And weigh with justice.  And don’t underestimate
  10. And He laid the ground for creation
  11. It has fruit trees and palm trees with canopies
  12. And grain with chaff and fragrant flowers
  13. So (O group of jinns) which of your Lord’s blessings will you deny?
  14. It is he who created man from clay like a clay
  15. And created the giants from the flame of fire
  16. So which of your Lord’s blessings will you deny?
  17. He is the Lord of both the East and the West.
  18. So which of your Lord’s blessings will you deny?
  19. He made two rivers flow which meet each other
  20. Both have a cover that they cannot cross
  21. So which of your Lord’s blessings will you deny?
  22. Both rivers produce pearls and corals
  23. So which of your Lord’s blessings will you deny?
  24. And to Him are the ships that stand high like mountains in the river
  25. So which of your Lord’s blessings will you deny?
  26. Everything that is on earth must perish
  27. And the person (blessed) of your Lord, who is the master of glory and greatness, will remain
  28. So which of your Lord’s blessings will you deny?
  29. All the people in heaven and earth ask Him.  He is busy with work every day
  30. So which of your Lord’s blessings will you deny?
  31. O both parties!  We turn to you soon
  32. So which of your Lord’s blessings will you deny?
  33. O group of jinns, if you have the power to go out from the edges of the sky and the earth, then go out.  And you cannot get out except by force
  34. So which of your Lord’s blessings will you deny?
  35. Flames and smoke will be left upon you, then you will not be able to resist
  36. So which of your Lord’s blessings will you deny?
  37. Then when the sky bursts and turns pink like oil slicks (then) what a horrible day it will be
  38. So which of your Lord’s blessings will you deny?
  39. On this day neither a person will be questioned about his sins nor any jinn
  40. So which of your Lord’s blessings will you deny?
  41. Sinners will be recognized by their face, then they will be caught by the hair of the forehead and the fee
  42. So which of your Lord’s blessings will you deny?
  43. This is the hell that sinners used to deny
  44. They will wander between hell and boiling water
  45. Which of the blessings of your Lord will you deny?
  46. And whoever fears standing before his Lord, there are two gardens for him
  47. So which of your Lord’s blessings will you deny?
  48. Both of them have many branches (i.e. trees of various kinds of fruits).
  49. So which of your Lord’s blessings will you deny?
  50. Two springs are flowing in them
  51. So which of your Lord’s blessings will you deny?
  52. Among them all the fruits are of two types
  53. So which of your Lord’s blessings will you deny?
  54. The people of Paradise) will be resting on scorpions whose razors are of talus.  And the fruits of the two gardens are near (bent).
  55. So which of your Lord’s blessings will you deny?
  56. Among them are the low-looking women who were not touched by any human or jinn before the people of Paradise
  57. So which of your Lord’s blessings will you deny?
  58. As if they are rubies and corals
  59. So which of your Lord’s blessings will you deny?
  60. Goodness is rewarded with nothing but goodness
  61. So which of your Lord’s blessings will you deny?
  62. And apart from these gardens there are two more gardens
  63. So which of your Lord’s blessings will you deny?
  64. Both very dark green
  65. Goodness is rewarded with nothing but goodness
  66. Two springs are boiling in them
  67. Goodness is rewarded with nothing but goodness
  68. Among them are nuts and dates and pomegranates
  69. Goodness is rewarded with nothing but goodness
  70. Among them are virtuous (and) beautiful women
  71. Goodness is rewarded with nothing but goodness
  72. (They are) the Horites who (are) masturas in the tents.
  73. Goodness is rewarded with nothing but goodness
  74. Neither human nor jinn touched them before the people of Paradise
  75. Goodness is rewarded with nothing but goodness
  76. They will be reclining on green carpets and exquisite cushions
  77. Goodness is rewarded with nothing but goodness
  78. O Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) the name of your Lord who is the owner of glory and greatness is very blessed
