Surah Al Fath English Translation

  1. O Muhammad (peace be upon him) We gave you victory.  Victory is also a clear description.
  2.  So that God may forgive your past and present sins and fulfill His blessings upon you and guide you to the straight paths.
  3. And may God help you tremendously.
  4. It is He who has sent down consolation to the hearts of the believers so that they may increase in faith and faith.  And the hosts of the heavens and the earth (all) belong to God.  And God is Knowing (and) Wise.
  5. (This) is so that He may admit believing men and believing women into gardens beneath which rivers flow, to abide therein forever, and to remove from them their sins.  And this is a great success in the sight of God.
  6. And (so that) punish the hypocrite men and hypocrite women and polytheist men and polytheist women who think ill of God.  Bad accidents happen to them.  And God was angry with them and cursed them and prepared hell for them. And that is an evil place.
  7. And the armies of the heavens and the earth belong to God.  And God is Mighty (and) Wise.
  8. And We have sent you (O Muhammad) as a revealer of the truth, a bearer of glad tidings, and an instiller of fear.
  9. So that you (Muslims) believe in God and His Messenger and help him and consider him as an elder.  And glorify Him morning and evening.
  10. Those who pledge allegiance to you pledge allegiance to God.  God’s hand is on their hands.  Then whoever breaks the covenant, the loss of breaking the covenant is for him.  And whoever fulfills what he has promised to God, He will soon give him a great reward.
  11. Those who remained behind will say to you that we have been held back by our wealth and family, so ask forgiveness for us. These people say with their tongue what is not in their heart. Say: If God intends to harm you (people) or to benefit you, then who is there to have authority over you over anything (nobody) but God is aware of what you do.
  12. The thing is that you people understood that the Prophet and the believers will never return to their families.  And this matter seemed good to your hearts.  And (for this reason) you thought evil and (eventually) you fell into perdition.
  13. And whoever disbelieves in God and His Messenger, We have prepared a Fire for the disbelievers.
  14. And to God belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth.  He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills.  And God is Forgiving, Merciful.
  15. When you go to take the booty, those who were left behind will say, Allow us also to go with you.  They want to change the word of God.  Say you can never walk with us.  In the same way, God has already said.  Then they will say (no) you are jealous of us.  The thing is that these people do not understand, but very little.
  16. Say to those who remained behind that you will be called to (fight with) a fierce fighting nation.  If you obey the order, God will reward you well.  And if you turn away as you did the first time, then He will punish you with bad pain.
  17. There is no sin on the blind, nor is there any sin on the lame, nor is there any sin on the sick.  And whoever follows the command of God and His Messenger, God will admit him to Gardens beneath which rivers flow.  And whoever turns away, He will punish him with an evil sorrow.
  18. (O Prophet) When the believers were pledging allegiance to you under the tree, God was pleased with them.  And He found out what was in their hearts.  So He comforted them and gave them victory soon.
  19. and many spoils which they obtained.  And God is Mighty, Wise.
  20. God promised you many spoils that you will get them, so He hastened the spoils for you and stopped people’s hands from you.  The purpose was that this might be an example of (God’s) power for the believers and that they may guide you on the straight path.
  21. And (give spoils) over which you had no power (and) they were in God’s power.  And God has power over all things.
  22. And if the disbelievers were to fight you, they would turn their backs and run away, then they would find no friend or helper.
  23. (This is) God’s habit which has been going on since before.  And you will never see God’s habit changing.
  24. And it is He Who, after giving you victory over them (disbelievers), stopped their hands from you and your hands from them at the border of Makkah.  And God is seeing what you do.
  25. These are the people who disbelieved and prevented you from the Masjid al-Haram and also prevented the sacrifices from reaching their place.  And if there were not Muslim men and Muslim women whom you did not know, if you had violated them, you would have been harmed by them in ignorance.  (Even so, the victory would have been by your hands, but for the delay) because (it happened) that God may enter into His mercy whom He wills.  And if the two parties had separated, We would have punished those among them who disbelieved with a painful chastisement.
  26. When the disbelievers became stubborn in their hearts and also became ignorant.  So God sent down comfort from His side on His Messenger and the believers and made them stick to the word of piety, and they were worthy and worthy of it.  And God is aware of everything.
  27. Verily, God showed His Prophet a true (and) correct dream. That if God wills, you will enter the Masjid Haram with peace and safety by shaving your heads and cutting your hair. And will not be afraid of any kind. He knew what you did not know, so He quickly conquered it before you.
  28. He is the One who sent His Messenger with the guidance (book) and the religion of truth so that he may prevail over all religions.  And God alone is sufficient to reveal the truth.
  29. Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is the Messenger of God and those who are with him are strict with the disbelievers and kind to each other, (O seer) then you see them bowing their heads (before God) and the grace of God.  And seeking his pleasure.  (Plenty of) their foreheads are marked by the effect of prostration.  These are their attributes in the Torah.  And these attributes are in the Gospel.  (He is) like a field which took out its needle (first from the ground) then strengthened it then became thick and then stood upright on its udder and began to please the farmers so as to burn the life of the disbelievers.  God has promised forgiveness of sins and a great reward to those among them who believed and did good deeds.
